One of the fondest memories I have is when Patrick was studying for the surveyor's exam. He would sit in his chair in the study and read Black's Law. Missy would toddle in and crawl up in his lap and he would read it out loud to her. I would go in a little later and find both of them sound asleep.

Later Patrick had to have a passport photo taken to submit with his surveyor's application. We went to a photographer one Saturday afternoon. The photographer feel in love with Missy and snapped a quick picture of her and her father. We thought nothing of it but when Patrick picked up his pictures there was the picture of him and Missy. No charge. Just a nice friendly gesture. It has always been one of my favorite pictures. Maybe because it was so spontaneous.
